The name itself suggest- Ladakh is meant for conquering great heights of its unending high passes; and the region is the first choice of all the enthusiastic and rugged trekkers. Trekking around the Ladakh valleys and its different high passes and valleys invites all the adventure enthusiasts for a simple to moderate and challenging trekking all around the area. When we talk about the Ladakh heights, the special package actually means making a great start from the Leh district to visualize the famous monasteries like Shey Gompa, Thiksey Gompa, Hemis, Alchi and Lamayuru for the most-awaited heritage and religious tour in the area. These monasteries are the most famed religious spots in Ladakh to highlight the true impact of Buddhism which bring the perfect combo of adventurous and religious tour simultaneously.

By accessing the heights at Lamayuru the trekkers can find the most fascinated caves carved out of the mountain side which is known as Yung Drung. Further on the way towards Tsomoriri, a reminiscent view of the Tsomoriri Lake alongside the landscape of Rupshu. The nearby village of Karzok is better known for an ancient monastery to find the ancient glimpses and the nomadic lives of the localizers.

Day 01 : Delhi – Leh (Complete Rest in Leh for acclimatisation)

Take the morning flight for Leh from Delhi. On arrival at Leh met our representative and transfer to pre booked hotel/Guest house for relax and acclimatisation. This is necessary for getting acclimatised at high altitude. Evening one can visit the color full market of Leh. Overnight in the hotel/guesthouse.

Day 02 : Leh – Shey – Thiksey - Hemis

On this day you will go a sightseeing trip to some ancient monasteries in this area.

Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17’Th century AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa.

Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order.

Hemis, about 45 kms south of Leh it is one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17’Th century. The setting is perfect with the monastery cradled in a lovely valley, surrounded by streams and fronted by long Mani walls. Overnight stay at the guest house.

Day 03 : Leh - Alchi

After breakfast proceeds for a sightseeing of centuries old Alchi monastery, enroute visit Basgo Palace and Likir Monastery. The present Gompa in Likir dates back to the 18th century. It contains huge clay images of Buddha and various old manuscripts. It also houses an interesting collection of Thangkas, old religious and domestic costumes and implements etc. Arrive Alchi by the afternoon. Visit the monastery at Alchi; spend the afternoon exploring the village. Overnight stay at Guest house.

Day 04 : Alchi - Leh

After breakfast return to Leh; on the way visit the monastery at Lamayuru. Lamayuru has fascinating caves carved out of the mountainside. Also known as Yung Drung (Swastika) it is sited on a high promontory overlooking the village and valley. For sheer spectacle value no other Gompa can match Lamayuru. Overnight stay at guest house.

Day 05 : Leh - Tsomoriri

Breakfast at hotel, Get ready take a drive to Tsomoriri Lake (set at 4572 M in the desolate landscape of Rupshu, is famous as the breeding ground of the rare bar-headed geese, and home to a number of other rare species of birds. The small village of Karzok, with its hilltop monastery, is the only habitation in the area, which is otherwise inhabited by the nomadic Chang-pa tribe) via Push, Chumathang. Take a walk around the lake and enjoy the scenic beauty of it. Overnight stay at camp.

Day 06 : Tsomoriri - Leh

After a leisurely breakfast, walk around the lake drive back to Leh. Overnight stay at guest house.

Day 07 : Leh

After breakfast proceed for an unforgettable drive to the top of the world's highest motor able mountain pass Khardung la, at a height of about 18,300 Feet. Enjoy the spectacular views of the snow covered Himalayas all around. Return by the afternoon. Afternoon free to explore the local markets on your own. Overnight stay at guest house.

Day 07 : Leh - Delhi

Transfer to the airport for the spectacular flight across the main chain of the Himalaya to Delhi.
