A truly classic ride across the chain of the Himalaya by way of four famours passes, the Taglang La (5280 M) , The Lachalung La ( 5065 M), the Baralacha La ( 4995 M), and the Rothang La (3990 M) makes this a long and demanding ride. During our stay in Leh for a couple of days for acclimatization, we visit many of the area's colourful Buddhist monasteries, spend a day white water rafting on the Indus and also bike the epic descent from the Khardungla at 5380 m the highest road pass in the world.This classic journey offers expousure to a tremendous vairey of landscape and culture, as we travel from the high plateau of Ladakh, through the semi and plains of Lahaul, to the lush greenery of the Kulu valley.If you are looking for the escitement of challenging climbs and some of the best downhill in the world, set amongst everchanging scenery, This trip is hard to beat.
Itinerary for motor biking in ladakh (16 Nights & 17 days):-
Day 01: Arrive in Delhi and transfer to the hotel.
Day 02: Fly to leh and free in the afternoon or one can lubricate and fixed bikes at the lawn of the hotel.
Day 03: Morning free and in the afternoon visit to the Stok Palace and ride back to the hotel on bikes.
Day 04: A full rafting on the Idnus river.
Day 05: A full day sightseeing of Shey. Thikse and Hemis and from Hemis we ride back to Choglamsar bridge and the toughest people can ride back all the way to Leh.
Day 06: Drive to Chilling 55 Km away from Leh, On the Leh- Srinagar highway and take left towards the Zanskar river to the village chilling from Nimmu. After having lunch at the village we ride back to nimmu bridge whre river Indus and Zanskar meet. Pack the bikes and drive back to Leh.
Day 07: Drive to Upshi and start riding from Upshi to Rumste and camp at the base of Tanglang La.
Day 08: Drive to the top of the Tanglang la. Down hill from ride from the pass to the moray plain ahave lunch in the middle of the moray plain and some can ride all the way to Pang or jump on the support car to the campsite.
Day 09: Drive to Lachalungla and ride down and up via Nikeka la and down the gata loops to Takh for lunch. After lunch a flat ride to Sarchu. Camp.
Day 10: Drive to Baralacha la and ride down hill to Sing Zang bar for lunch, and after lunch lunch down hill ride to Darcha with little ups in between. 5 Km from Darcha to Jispa where we camp.
Day 11: Ride all the way to Koksar having lunch at Tandi, the ride from jsipa to Koksar are reasonably flat. Camp at Koksar at the base of Rohtang La.
Day 12: Drive to Rohtang pass and a superb down hill ride to Manali. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13 : Free day in Manali to explore the colourful bazaars.
Day14: Ride to Kulu via Naggar, have lunch at Naggar castle, Overnight at hotel.
Day15: Drive to Chandigarh and take the train to Delhi. Hotel.
Day16: Early morning train to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi transfer to the hotel.
Day17: Transfer to the IGI airport for onward journey to your destination.
Day11 - Leh: Visit Hemis, Stakna, Matho. Hemis Gompa: 40 kms from Leh, built in 1630, is the biggest monastery in Ladakh. Matho Monastery: situated on the opposite bank of the Indus across Thiksey, Matho was established in the first half of the 16th century AD and has valuable collection of very old and beautiful Thankhas, some in the form of Mandalas. Its annual festival of Oracles in early march is an important event in Ladakhi religious calendar. Overnight at hotel.
Day12 - Leh: Visit Stok, Spituk, Phiyang. Stok Monastery: The Palace of the banished royal family, Stok has a museum which displays fabulous period costumes and jewellery of the royalty along with exquisite Thankas representing the life style of Sakya Muni. Spituk Monastery : stands on a hillock 8 km from Leh. Overnight at hotel.
Day13 - Leh: Drive to Alchi. Visit Alchi Gompa and drive back to Leh. Overnight at hotel.
Day14 - Leh-Delh: Transfer from airport to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day15 - Delhi-Aboard: Early morning transfer to the airport to connect flight for onward destination.
